Central European Rally: Škoda crews target class win as WRC2 title decision goes down to the wire. At the 2024 FIA World Rally Championship’s penultimate round, WRC2 leader Oliver Solberg (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2) competes without scoring points for the category. Solberg’s Toksport WRT teammate Gus Greensmith as well aims for the RC2 class win. On asphalt stages in the Czech Republic, Austria and Germany, Škoda drivers Kajetan Kajetanowicz and Joshua McErlean target top position in WRC2 Challenger category. The 2024 FIA World Rally Championship enters the final stretch with the Central European Rally (17-20 October). With only the Czech-Austrian-German event and Rally Japan in November remaining, three drivers mathematically can still win the WRC2 title. Current leader Oliver Solberg (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2) cannot improve his points balance, because he has already reached his maximum of seven scoring events. One of his two competitors is also not competing in WRC2 this time, the second needs a victory to overtake Solberg in the overall standings.
Oliver Solberg/Elliott Edmondson (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 of team Toksport WRT) compete without scoring points for the WRC2 classification. 23-year-old Swede Oliver Solberg (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 of team Toksport WRT) leads WRC2 overall, but has already reached his maximum of seven points scoring events.
Briton Gus Greensmith and Swedish co-driver Jonas Andersson (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 of team Toksport WRT) target the RC2 class win.
Reigning German Champion Marijan Griebel and co-driver Tobias Braun (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 of team Pole Promotion) take on the regular WRC2 crews.
