Catchacoma, ON — The forest roads of Kawartha Lakes will once again echo with the growl of rally cars as the 2025 Black Bear Rally returns with renewed grit and gravel. Hosted by the Maple Leaf Rally Club, this year’s event brings drivers back to the storied Quarry Road and a reconditioned stretch of Loom Lake Road, freshly cleared after April’s devastating ice storm left its mark.
Set for another action-packed chapter, the Black Bear Rally is the third round of the 2025 Ontario Performance Rally Championship (OPRC) and fourth in the Eastern Canadian Rally Championship (ECRC) making it a pivotal mid-season battle for regional supremacy.
Eight competitive stages are on the agenda, run entirely on closed gravel roads and linked by generous transit sections. The total route spans approximately 100 kilometers, with 77 km of stage mileage, pushing the ratio of flat-out action to nearly 78% a dream for drivers and fans alike.
Rally Headquarters will once again be nestled in the heart of the event at the Cavendish Community Centre (18 Community Complex Drive, Catchacoma), which will serve as the central hub for registration, technical inspection, service, fuelling, the rally start/finish, and the celebratory podium ceremony. All teams will operate from the on-site Service Park, creating a compact and community-focused environment.
The rally will run under the 2025 General Competition Rules and Regulations of the Canadian Association of RallySport (CARS) and the current rules of RallySport Ontario (RSO), ensuring a professional, fair, and thrilling experience for all competitors.
More than just a motorsport event, the Black Bear Rally is known for its warm hospitality and strong camaraderie. This year continues the tradition with a post-rally dinner, giving drivers, co-drivers, volunteers, and fans a chance to unwind and connect after the dust settles.
As the championship standings begin to take shape, the 2025 Black Bear Rally promises to deliver tight battles, dramatic turns, and unforgettable moments on some of Ontario’s most iconic rally roads.
