RALLY SWEDEN: SIX ŠKODA FABIA RS RALLY2 CREWS SCORE WRC2 CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS

  • At the FIA World Rally Championship’s only full-snow event, six of the top 10 positions in WRC2 went to Škoda Motorsport customer teams.
  • Mikko Heikkilä and co-driver Kristian Temonen from Finland conquer a WRC2 podium position with TGS Worldwide’s Škoda Fabia RS Rally2.

Škoda crews outnumbered the opposition in the WRC2 result of Rally Sweden, second round of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC). A total of six Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 were listed inside the top 10 of the final WRC2 result. As third of the category, Mikko Heikkilä/Kristian Temonen from Finland climbed onto the WRC2 podium.

Sharing a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 of team TGS Worldwide, Finns Mikko Heikkilä/Kristian Temonen finished on the WRC2 podium.

Lauri Joona and co-driver Samu Vaaleri (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 of team MS Munaretto) reached the finish fourth in WRC2.

Locals Isak Reiersen/Stefan Gustavsson brought JC Raceteknik’s Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 home in fifth WRC2 position.

Fabrizio Zaldivar from Paraguay and Italian co-driver Marcelo Der Ohannesian (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 of team Toksport WRT) finished sixth as the highest placed non-Scandinavian team in WRC2.

Former Škoda factory driver and WRC2 champion Pontus Tidemand from Sweden made a comeback to the world championship alongside Norwegian co-driver Jørgen Eriksen.

Estonians Robert Virves/Jakko Viilo (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 of team RaceSeven) were highest-placed Škoda crew for most of the rally.

Winners of the WRC Masters Cup classification: Alexander Villanueva and co-driver Alberto Chamorro from Spain (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 of team Mapo Motorsport).
